SHIRDI SAI COIR MATS AND MATTINGS
Coir / Jute / Sisal Rugs
Like Coir, Jute and Sisal are natural fibre and based on appearance there is little difference between both. All these rugs are Organic hence extremely eco-friendly. The main difference between the two is the texture and feel of the rugs, Since Sisal is a little coarser and hardy, making it better suited to outdoor use and high traffic areas like entranceways. Jute is typically softer and better suited to living areas and bedrooms.
Rugs are braided in different shades and patterns. The well-received woven patterns are Boucle, Herringbone, Panama etc., These Rugs are pet-friendly also and are relatively easy to clean.
Rugs are extensively used to Latex back* and the borders are webbed with matching cotton or jacquard fabrics.
Coir Mattings are made on traditional handlooms, available in natural beach, solid colours and a multitude of designs/patterns made by weave with or without latex backing. Mainly used as floor coverings and floor runners or furnishing stairs/corridors.

Coir Geo-Textiles
“The Natural Erosion Controller”
The coir in the form of woven mesh matting, having varying densities, depending on their applications, ideal for absorbing water and preventing top soil from drying out. The high tensile strength of coir fibres protects steep surfaces from heavy flow of water and also from the wind related erosion. The open weave allows planting seeds through the mesh without cutting the mat and allows re-seeding, if necessary.
COIR LOGS
Coir Logs are also an effective medium for erosion control. Coir Logs are long coir knotted netting tightly filled with coir fibres. Coir Logs are widely used on stream banks, seashores, and Lake Shores for controlling the sand slide. It is also used in desert areas for controlling sand overcomes.Logs are also produced with pre drilled holes for easy planting.
